RULES OF 7 CARD STUD

In 7 Card Stud each player pays an ante to see three cards: two down, one face up. Generally, the person who shows the lowest card must "bring it in", that is bet the ante to start the action after the first three cards. Once the betting that follows has commenced a fourth upcard is dealt, known as fourth street. Fifth street and sixth street are also dealt face up after betting until the final card, seven street, which is dealt face down. There is then a round of betting in which any players who have not folded their hands will showdown to see who has made the best hand.
You make the best five card hand out of the seven available to you, four face up and three face down. This differs from hold'em where you are sharing community cards. You are being dealt private cards but others can see them, and it is important that you pay attention to all of the upcards revealed to you, and remember the mucked ones, and look for overcards or open pairs your opponents may hold and any of your outs that you want to still be in the deck.
